One of the most upcoming and trending aspects of a modern day wedding is having a space for your guests to lounge in a comfortable and stylish environment. Clearly it can be a challenge to keep guests entertained at all times especially In between the wedding ceremony, and reception while you and your hubby are getting pictures taken – and so the Wedding Lounge was created!

Here your guests can take a moment to collect themselves or try out your “Signature Cocktail” created by you and your fiance or kick back and socialize. Here are some great tips on how you can create this cool, laid back space at your wedding.

~ Take advantage of the space

Examine your wedding venue and try to picture where you see your Wedding Lounge placed. Perhaps not to close to the head table…and make sure to utilize the area to the best of your ability. What is your wedding colour theme and décor? Your lounge should utilize some elements from your theme but it doesn’t have to be exactly alike. It can be more scaled down and sleek, Think about adding draped curtains and some potted plants and perhaps some colored light accents and of course the Bar!

~ Provide different seating options

This is quite important and the main component of a Wedding Lounge. Pay attention to the type of seating. you use and their placement. Placing low sofa seats and mixing in some high top tables and bar stools gives off a relaxed, vibe. Alternate between low couches & bar chairs and group them together to create conversational areas. Variations of seats and sizes is more inviting to guests and allows them to feel right at home.


~ Mixing & Mingling

Aside from socializing, have a few fun out of the box ideas or activities tis a great way to create interaction between Wedding Guests adds and extra llayer of surprise and fun to your Wedding.  One cool idea is to provide polaroid cameras so guests can take picures and share. Another idea is to leave out questionaires or facts about the Bride & Groom which guests can read and share with each other. Not only will this keep your guests entertained, it is also a memorable activity.

~The Signature Cocktail

Yes this is now a thing. Many modern day couples create a signature drink or cocktail which they provide at the wedding. Your Wedding Lounge does not need to have a fully stocked bar. It can simply be your signature cocktail and whatever else you choose to provide. You can call it what you like- perhaps a cute, funny name you which relfects you and your new spouse.

~ Enhance your overall wedding

Lastly, remember you don’t have to put too much emphasis on the Wedding Lounge. This space is only meant to elevate your overall Wedding Reception. It doesn’t need to be perfect. It is it merely a chic and inviting in between area for your guests to mingle and relax while they wait for your grand entrance.
